Social Sector Leadership and Innovation
Ben is the Executive Director of the Center for Social Sector Leadership at the Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. At Haas, he teaches MBA courses on leadership, strategy and innovation for social impact, and also leads the Social Impact Collective, which provides insight and community for high net worth families to make giving and impact investing more impactful. Ben also serves as a Senior Fellow in the Aspen Institute Financial Security Program.
Previously, Ben was co-founder and CEO of EARN, which is using technology to help 220,000+ workers in all 50 US states, to save and invest in their futures. In his role at EARN, he cofounded Bank on San Francisco, and Kindergarten to College, two groundbreaking economic mobility initiatives replicated nationwide. His writings on social sector innovation and economic mobility have appeared in the Stanford Social Innovation Review, TED Ideas, San Francisco Magazine and the San Francisco Chronicle. Ben is a graduate of Vassar College and Harvard’s Kennedy School.
