Kate began her career as a teacher in Johannesburg, South Africa, at African Leadership Academy, where she taught African Politics & Governance, African History, and Entrepreneurial Leadership to students from 45+ countries. Born in apartheid South Africa to American journalists, Kate saw the power of great societal movements and leadership at an early age. She is passionate about using education to transform societies and create social impact-minded leaders at every level of society.

Prior to joining Entangled, Kate did management and strategy consulting with the Boston Consulting Group (BCG), focusing on helping technology clients address new market challenges and opportunities. Before BCG, she helped launch and run a blended pan-African MBA program in Rwanda, and managed the entrepreneurial leadership curriculum at a pan-African university in Mauritius. Her experience in education ranges from program design and implementation, higher education accreditation, diverse faculty hiring, academic quality assurance, cohort community-building, design thinking, and curriculum design.

Kate holds an M.B.A. and M.A. in Education from Stanford University and a B.A. in History from Yale University. She is an advisor to Latin American Leadership Academy in Medellin, Colombia.
